From blast freezing to carcass chilling, from corrosion resistant construction to cleanable high hygiene designs, we can help! Our proprietary computer selection software accurately sizes evaporators for ammonia, CO2, freons, brines, and glycols. Low temperature working fluids like liquid nitrogen, carbon dioxide, Dynalene™, d-limonene, and Tyfoxit™, are no problem. We will select the proper combination of materials to match your requirements for: working temperature, refrigerant compatibility, corrosion resistance, food safety, and cost effectiveness. Aluminum ammonia evaporators are a special area of expertise. Colmac innovations include: Patented bimetallic couplers for joining aluminum ammonia evaporator coils to steel and stainless steel piping without the use of with flange unions, patented low temperature (-40) DX ammonia evaporator system with Smart Hot Gas Defrost, anti-microbial fin materials and coil construction, patented USDA sanitary design evaporators for food processing applications, low temperature (-40) water defrost, and corrosion resistant coil construction. Certifications and quality systems include: UL, CSA, ASME, CRN, and PED. Fan motors and controls for 50 or 60Hz, NEMA or IEC are available. Evaporators can be arranged for DX, pump recirculated (liquid overfeed), gravity flooded, or glycol/brine operation. Long airthrow adapters are available to increase airthrow to 300 ft (100m). High pressure fans, i.e. centrifugal, plug, or tubeaxial, can be specified for demanding applications with tightly packed product such as blast freezing or pressure cooling. Penthouse evaporators, 45 degree down discharge, horizontal discharge, blowthrough or drawthrough fan arrangements are a few of the fan arrangements possible. Other unique features such as defrost isolation dampers can be incorporated for energy efficient defrosting.
