Evaporators for ammonia refrigeration systems installed in Canada require special registration for the province in which the evaporators are to be installed. This registration process, termed CRN (Canadian Registration Number) involves the careful review of a manufacturer’s equipment design by responsible Provincial engineers according to ASME B31.5 (Refrigeration Piping Code). Colmac has completed the process of obtaining CRN for its complete range of aluminum, stainless steel, and hot dip galvanized ammonia evaporator designs in all provinces. Both custom evaporators and standard Aircoil™ ammonia evaporators can be quickly manufactured for shipment to Canadian customers. “We are very pleased to announce that our complete range of ammonia refrigeration evaporators and air-cooled condensers are now available with CRN for shipment to Canada from either of our two factories.
